American Photographic Resources (APR) is dedicated to offering you the finest products and customer service in the professional photography industry. Our goal is to simplify your life with a one-stop photography resource company that is easy to work with.

APR has been a family owned and operated business since 1991. Starting as a small business dedicated to photography props and products, APR quickly grew and became the leader in children's props, as well as family, senior, and executive props across the United States and abroad. Developing unique photography studio props became APR's mainstay. APR soon developed Soft Spin fabric backgrounds and added Photogenic Lighting and Equipment to its product line.

In 2002 APR's founders, Patti and Randy Dunham, had been thoroughly blessed and were ready to retire from APR. They sold the company to Patti's daughter and son-in-law, Natalie & Richard Osborne, who brought with them 17 years experience in the photography industry working with Art Leather, a leading photo album company in the industry at that time. With this experience, they were able to select album and frame lines they both felt offered the quality and standards their customers needed to increase the value of their portrait and wedding images.

About APR Props
 

Props... Specializing in children, senior, family and executive props, APR has the largest variety of photography props in the industry. APR props are in stock and ship to you quickly. APR makes most of their props both in-house and locally. Some props are also made from reputable manufacturers in other countries.
All of our products are developed for use as photography studio props. Standards may be different than home decor or other type items. For instance, most APR furniture is very lightweight with the professional photographer in mind. APR's antique props are reproductions made to look antique, with imperfections to enhance the authentic look. Teakwood props are used in the wood's natural state, sometimes showing knots and cracks to enhance photographic appeal. Chairs, benches, etc. are checked for stability when imperfections are apparent.

Many props that are noted as white in color are slightly off white for easier color control with digital cameras. Wood and painted items are generally not shiny because of the reflective aspect of photography studio lighting equipment. All prop sizes depicted are approximate since many of the props are handmade.
